Job In Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh for Clerks- Dec 2010 | www.highcourtchd.gov.in

In the establishment of the Lahore High Court, the head of the Court of Punjab, who was working in the past 53 years, was abolished. The Lahore High Court, under the Letters Patent and Section 106 and 113 of the Act of Government of India in 1915 was invested with all the appeals and direct powers, authority and jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. The Lahore High Court by Letters Patent is also consistent with original jurisdiction in certain special issues as they were held by the Supreme Court. These special issues, disciplinary measures against lawyers (Article 8), Guardianship (Clause 12), testamentary and intestate (clause 24) and matrimonial matters (clause 22). The High Court had no ordinary original civil jurisdiction. However, ordinary original criminal jurisdiction was to some extent.
