To speed up research in homeopathy, the need for planned and organized research was felt strongly by the Government of India. As a result, the Central Council for Research in Medicine and Homeopathy India (CCRIMH) was established in 1969 to carry out research in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani medicine, yoga and homeopathy.
