Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), a central body in the national forestry research system, has been undertaking the development of forestry research through planning needs based on the promotion, implementation and coordination research, education and extension that covers all aspects of forestry. The Council is responsible for forestry research based solution in line with emerging problems in the sector, in particular global problems like climate change, conservation of biological diversity, combating desertification and sustainable management and development resources.
