groundwater exploration drilling aid is one of the main activities of the Board with the aim of discovering the aquifers in different hydrogeological conditions and the determination of hydraulic parameters. program sub-surface exploration of large-scale groundwater began in 1954. In the early years, exploratory drilling activities are confined to alluvial tracts in major river basins and sub-mountainous tracts of the Himalayan foothills bouldary.
