Following the promulgation of the ESI Act the Central Government. create the ESI Corporation to administer the system. The Plan will thereafter be applied first in Kanpur and Delhi on February 24, 1952. The Act also absolved employers of their obligations under the Law on Maternity Benefit, Accident Compensation Act 1961 and 1923.
