Reserve Bank of India, after the creation of the Board of Payment and Settlement Systems in 2005, unveiled a vision document that includes a proposal to create an institution that brings together all RETAIL PAYMENT SYSTEMS in the country. The main objective was to consolidate and integrate multiple systems with different levels of service uniform throughout the country and the standard reporting process for all retail payment systems.
