Forest Survey of India (FSI) is a premier national organization in the union of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, responsible for assessing and monitoring the country's forest resources regularly. In addition, also involved in providing training services, research and extension. Founded in June 1.1981, the Forest Survey of India won the "pre-investment survey of forest resources" (PISFR), a project initiated in 1965 by the Government of India under the auspices of FAO and UNDP.
